FAQs
Do you have a special tour for mobility-impaired?
We do not have a scheduled mobility-impaired tour this year. If the demand is high enough we will add one. Call the Library at 518-398-1927 if you are interested.
Please note that wheelchairs and walkers are not allowed on the other tours because of the rough terrain and limited lighting.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All ages are welcome but the tours are most suitable for ages 5 and over.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is free and available along Maple Street and North Main Street, adjacent to the cemetery. A parking attendant will direct you. Your tour will begin at 19 Maple Street (next door to The Pines).
What can I bring/not bring into the event?
Cameras and flashlights are welcome. No flash photography, and cell phones must be silenced. No pets (service animals only).
What precautions are being taken for COVID-19?
None.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You can email us at libraryevents.pineplains@gmail.com anytime, or call the Pine Plains Free Library at 518.398.1927 during normal business hours.
What's the refund policy?
We're sorry but tickets are non-refundable.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
If you are unable to use your ticket and wish to transfer it to someone else, please either email us at libraryevents.pineplains@gmail.com or call the library at 518.398.1927 so we can update our records.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes. Use the link that came with your order confirmation to access your free Eventbrite account.
Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?
No, although it is recommended. We will have a master check-in list at the event.
How long is the tour?
The tour is about 1 hour long.
How should I dress?
Please dress appropriately for the weather and the terrain, as this is an outdoor event in an old cemetery with uneven ground. We recommend wearing warm clothing and rubber-soled shoes or sneakers. If rain is in the forecast, please remember to bring an umbrella.
Is there a rain date?
No, sorry.
Is the tour scary?
These tours are historical in nature and not meant to be scary. However, being in an old cemetery at night could be scary for some people. Also, Evergreen Cemetery has resident buzzards who fly home here to roost every evening, which could be either unsettling or cool depending on your point of view.
Can I pay by check online?
At this time, only credit cards are accepted for online orders.
Do you take walk-ins?
We can only accommodate walk-ins if there is room on the tour. Payable by cash or check at the door, same price as online orders.
Can I bring a stroller on the tour?
We're sorry but strollers are not allowed on the tour. Much of the tour is off-path. If a child can't walk they will need to be carried.
