About this Event

EVEREST: '91 to '19

Three Mount Washington Valley climbers who have stood on top of the world will join together on Friday, November 8 from 6:30-9pm in a special one-of-a-kind event for the ages. The event, entitled: “EVEREST: ’91 to ’19”, will feature climbers Rick Wilcox, Thom Pollard, and Mark Synnott, each of whom summited Everest at different times covering a period from 1991 to 2019. The event will highlight the experiences of each climber and collectively discuss the changes in climbing during the massive growth of the sport. Beginning with Wilcox’s days pioneering the successful New England Everest Expedition in 1991 to Pollard’s quest to locate and eventually discover explorer George Mallory in 1999 and, finally, to Synnott’s experience in the “death zone” during one of the most crowded – and deadly – years on Everest, there will be plenty to discuss.

EVEREST: 91 to 19 will benefit the Mountain Rescue Service which provides specialized technical teams comprised of world-class guides and climbers who volunteer their time and expertise in the service of hikers and climbers who need assistance, in and around the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

The event will also launch The North Face concept store, a collaboration project with sponsors The North Face (TNF), Ragged Mountain Equipment (RME), and Synnott Mountain Guides, inside Ragged Mountain Equipment. A pre-event reception will be held at RME from 4pm-6pm and will feature book signings, giveaways, food & beverages, and new TNF products.
