Event description

Description

Since 2005, the Netherlands has liberalised its immigration policies for immigrants with economic purposes. For example, permit schemes are intended to facilitate highly skilled labour immigration.

For people wanting to establish a new business, a residence permit for start-ups has been recently introduced and a point-based system has been put in place for entrepreneurs in general. To improve the service to overseas businesses, investors may obtain a residence permit for a substantial investment of at least 1.250.000 euros.

Foreign students who graduate in the Netherlands, or from one of the world’s top 100 universities, will have the opportunity to search for highly skilled employment with the orientation year residence permit.

Expats already working in the Netherlands may be thinking about their future and might like to know more about their rights. The workshop will also focus on this group by going through the requirements to obtain permanent residence or Dutch citizenship.
