The First Virtual Evening with the Authors 2020

About this Event

We are excited to announce a new version of Evening with the Authors for this year. Though the pandemic has forced us to cancel our indoor event in the charming Eugene C. Clark Library, we are committed to hosting our 20-year event…online.

We will be Zooming with our discussion panel featuring three outstanding authors:

Lara Prescott

Kate W. Dawson

Stephen Yanoff

There isn’t a set price for the "ticket" to view our authors. We hope that our viewers will be generous with a donation so that we can continue our commitment to the library in funding its Overdrive subscription and teen books.

Please join us on October 3, 2020 at 7 pm. You may follow the link on our website to join a lively evening with these wonderful authors: www.eveningwiththeauthors.com

Our Authors:

Lara Prescott: Lara Prescott is the author of The Secrets We Kept, an instant New York Times bestseller and a Hello Sunshine x Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick. Her novel “recreates 1950s Washington, DC, where the CIA typing pool is an incubator for female spies. A daring, smart blend of fact and fiction.” (People magazine review) Inspired by the CIA plot to infiltrate the hearts of Soviet Russia, not with propaganda, but with the greatest love story of the 20th century: Doctor Zhivago.

Kate W. Dawson: Kate Dawson is a senior lecturer in broadcast journalism at UT-Austin and producer of almost two-dozen documentaries. In American Sherlock, she offers up a riveting biography of Edward Oscar Heinrich who helped put the science into old fashion detective work. Her debut book Death in the Air is a gripping, historical narrative of a serial killer, an environmental disaster, and an iconic city struggling to regain its footing.

Stephen Yanoff: He writes nonfiction history books and mystery novels, and has won numerous gold and silver medals. In Turbulent Times, he offers a compelling portrait of William Henry Seward and sheds new light on this complex historical figure and the crucial role he played in shaping the fate of our nation. In his latest mystery, Capone Island, featuring insurance investigator Adam Gold, he weaves true historical and geographic facts into a most entertaining read.
