Lithuanian Embassy in Washington D.C. kindly invites you to a meeting with a Holocaust survivor from Lithuania
DANA POMERANTS-MAZURKEVICH
The program will start as a panel discussion with Dana Pomerants-Mazurkevich, accompanied by experts from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, followed by screening of the documentary “Sisters” (2016, Lithuania, 58 min) and a light reception.
Speakers:
The documentary „Sisters“ is a rescue story of a Jewish girl Danutė, born in the Kaunas Ghetto. Kipras Petrauskas, tenor singer and one of the founders of the National Lithuanian Opera and his wife Elena Žalinkevičaite-Petrauskienė, a well-known actress and poet, gave shelter to Dana and treated her with warmth and respect despite the enormous risks.
