Event description
A brief service of Eucharist on the front patio. Following the service, the Nave will be open for private prayer.

About this Event

What to expect?

The patio between the nave and office will be set up as an outdoor chapel. Eucharist begins at 5:30 and concludes around 6 pm. Following the service, the Nave will be open for private prayer until 6:30. Up to ten people may be in the Nave at a time. Masks are required throughout.

As you enter the building, please use hand sanitizer and then go down the center aisle to your assigned seat. Every other pew will be cordoned off. Foam tubes in the pews will mark off 6 feet to help keep distance. Members of the same household may sit together. You may bring a Prayer Book, Bible, or reading material from home. No books or printed materials will be available. Prayers or music (no singing or wind instruments) may be offered. When you leave, depart via the side aisles and out the rear or side doors. Restrooms are for emergency use only and must be cleaned after each use.

How to Prepare

Participants in Pilgrimage accept the responsibilities of gathering in pandemic conditions and agree to abide by the following practices for everyone’s health and safety:

Pray: Talk with God about why you wish to participate and what you hope to gain. Mentally prepare to keep the necessary distance. Consider how you will greet others you see without touching. Discern whether it is better for you to remain at home at this time. If you feel any sadness about that, offer that feeling to God.

Check your health: Before arriving, ask yourself how you have been feeling. Do not attend if anyone in the household is experiencing fever, cough, sore throat, loss of energy, nausea, loss of taste/smell or other symptoms of COVID-19 or other communicable disease. If you believe any of you have been exposed to COVID-19, or anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, or to anyone who may themselves have been exposed, regardless of your current symptoms, please do not attend. The Church reserves the right to ask those expressing symptoms to separate from the group, leaving the grounds of the Church until you are feeling better and symptom-free.

Face Masks: Please bring your own face mask or covering with you and wear it throughout your time on campus.

Register

Please sign up if you wish to participate. To make space for others, please sign up only once every two weeks. By registering, you agree to abide by the guidelines above. You also agree to give us your contact information. The Church will gather and maintain contact information of all in attendance to facilitate any communication or contact tracing that could become necessary in the event a case of COVID-19 is identified among those who participated.

If you have trouble with Eventbrite, contact Meg at office@stthomascolumbus.org and she will help you register.

Note: The picture of the Nave was taken before the pandemic. Prayer Books and Hymnals have been removed. You may bring your own or other reading material.
