EVC Presents: Docs & Dialogue - Breathing Easy
Event Information
About this Event
For this edition of EVC’s Docs & Dialogue series we’ll be watching the 2012 documentary Breathing Easy with the youth producers who made the film. This documentary explores the harmful impact that lead poisoning, mold, and pests and pesticides in low-come housing have on the health and wellbeing on their communities. EVC youth producers investigate the presence of these pollutants in their fellow student’s Harlem apartment, and they show how the information and advocacy provided by WE ACT for Environmental Justice and other health experts give hope to a family in need. In 2013, this film was included in the exhibition “Health is a Human Right: Race and Place in America,” at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hosted by EVC Alumni Raelene Holmes and Steven-Emmanuel Martinez. The event will be recorded.
The series is free and open to the public. Please consider donating to support young people changing the world one documentary at a time!
