ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT OF THE FITNESS ATHLETE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FUNCTIONAL FITNESS PRINCIPLES INTO PHYSICAL THERAPY

This seminar aims to bridge the gap between rehab and optimal performance through the
use of functional fitness principles. The fitness training models that will be addressed in
the course will include: CrossFit, Iron Tribe, HIIT, powerlifting, weightlifting, plyometrics,
kettlebell training, and gymnastics modalities.

The course will emphasize interactive learning of:

* Current evidence-based research and rehabilitation principles
* Functional anatomy breakdown of the foundational movements popularized
by functional fitness
* Movement analysis
* Joint assessment and screening
* The biopsychosocial model and its application to the fitness community
* Integrative corrective exercise based upon strength and conditioning principles
* Manual therapy techniques

The course has been approved for 7 CEU’s for both PT’s & PTA’s. The main focus will encompass the realm
of physical therapy, but the knowledge is both applicable to MDs, trainers, strength and conditioning
specialists, Exercise Kinesiologists, and students who are considering all of the former.

We will work to help any participants from any state/ jurisdiction on obtaining their hours earned.
