We are delighted to invite you to our Coastal Community and Creative Health (CC&CH) workshop. This free session is open to all project team members, project partners, voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, creative sector practitioners (e.g., community artists), and those working in health, social care and academia.

Evaluating Programmes and Creative Engagement

Evaluating creative engagement programmes, including creative health and participatory arts projects, can raise challenging issues for participants, artists, commissioners, and funders. At the same time, creative methods offer opportunities to get at the heart of what works for participants and how they benefit from engaging in these projects.

This workshop will introduce evaluation in creative engagement programmes, including:

  • Findings from research on evaluation methods and funder expectations
  • Frameworks for evaluating programmes where creative engagement is part of the design
  • Using creative methods to engage participants in evaluation

We’ll take a collaborative learning approach where attendees will:

  • Learn about current issues and models from peers and experts
  • Discuss experiences with other attendees and brainstorm practical solutions
  • Contribute to a shared knowledge base of practice tips and resources

Facilitator

Dr Julia Puebla Fortier has led collaborative practice, research and policymaking with a wide variety of stakeholders in public health. She conducts participatory action research and evaluation on arts, health and wellbeing as an independent researcher and with the University of Bristol. She has a particular interest in managing cross-sectoral collaborations for arts and health, training creative health practitioners, and teaching qualitative research methods.

Who Should Attend?

This session is aimed at practitioners and managers from VCSFE organisations, community artists, local authority representatives, and professionals in health and social care who want to build their understanding and skills on creative evaluation methods and evaluating creative health programmes.
