Description

DG Connect and DG Growth have commissioned a project to analyse and launch a European Catalogue of ICT Standards for Public Procurement.

The objective of this European Catalogue is to provide a one-stop-shop at the EU level to support and guide public procurers when referring to ICT standards and profiles of standards in their calls for tenders. This Catalogue should help drive the adoption of European standards, while ensuring progressive convergence on the use of ICT standards by public procurers, increasing interoperability and reducing both market fragmentation and the risk of vendor lock-in with proprietary solutions.

As part of the European Catalogue project, a workshop has been planned for 15 June. The Workshop location is Room 0/S1, 25 avenue de Beaulieu, 1160 Auderghem, Brussels. Registration for the Workshop will commence at 10:00 (CEST) and the Workshop will conclude at 17:00 (CEST).

The purposes of this workshop are to examine a range of:

  1. proposed adoption processes for this future Catalogue
  2. proposed governance frameworks for this future Catalogue
  3. proposed maintenance processes for the ongoing operation of this future Catalogue

This Governance Workshop will involve interactive discussions with the audience, whereby they will be asked to assess and validate the different adoption, governance and maintenance processes presented to them. We are seeking attendees from a number of different areas, including:

  • Individuals engaged in public procurement within EU Member States or EFTA;
  • National procurement agencies;
  • Related EU projects and initiatives;
  • Individuals and organisations engaged in the development and assessment of standards;
  • Individuals/industry representatives within eGovernment, Cloud, Intelligent Transport, and Smart Energy Devices
  • Policy makers

However, please note that due to the limited number of available places, preference will be afforded to those working in the are of national procurement.

Please note that due to the implemented security measures for accessing EU buildings, all attendees will also be required to submit additional information directly to the venue so as to ensure they can access the event. There, in addition to booking your ticket on Eventbrite you must also register your attendance online at: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/GovWS15-06-2016 by Friday 10th June 2016.
