Join Houston Chefs Richard Knight of Hunky Dory and Mark Parmley of El Big Bad on an exploration of ethnic comfort foods. The date is May 1 from 1 - 5 pm. Knight is one of Houston's rising culinary talents. Parmley has previously overseen the culinary program for suites at Minute Maid Park and NRG Stadium and worked in the kitchens of some of the city's top restaurants including Brennan's and the former Catalan.
The exact details & restaurant destinations will be kept secret until you arrive. Please arrive at Central Market's parking lot (close to Well Fargo) to board the bus fifteen minutes before scheduled departure. You will be given an agenda/tour list then as well as a swag bag filled with awesome H-Town goodies from Visit Houston and tour theme swag from our sponsor Central Market. We welcome you to stop in before or after to grab a coffee or wine. We will provide water & beer from our sponsor Saint Arnold's Brewery. What is your cancellation policy? Once purchased, tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be rescheduled, as they guarantee your spot on the tour.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash? Tickets must be purchased in advance, and tours often sell out quickly. Tickets can only be purchased online at www.thehoustonwave.eventbrite.com Cash is not accepted.
Will I be contacted prior to the tour with details? Yes. Upon purchase we will send you an email providing the confirmation of purchase, meeting location, and other Food Tour details.
What if I have dietary restrictions? Please let us know if you or anyone in your party has a dietary restriction when you purchase your tickets. We will work to accommodate your special food needs whenever possible.
Are there special rates for seniors or children? Currently we do not have discounted tickets.
Can children come on the tour? All participants on the tour must be at least 21 years of age.
How much food is served on the tour? There are 3-4 stops for tastings on the tour. We encourage attendees to pace themselves. The food is so good, it is very easy to fill up at the first or second stop.
Are there kosher options on the tour? Unfortunately, we do not offer kosher foods on this particular tour.
What beverages are served on the tour? We provide water and Saint Arnold beer on the bus. Beverages will also be provided at each tour stop. If you'd like to bring your own beverages for the bus, you are welcome to do so.
Can I take pictures or video on the tour? Yes! We encourage pictures. We may also be taking pictures & will upload them to https://www.facebook.com/VisitHoustonTexas/photos_stream. You will just click to find your tour by Name & Date. (ie:June 14, 2015 Chris Shepherd-Vietnamese)
