Description

Training Overview: This free, one-day training will cover the topic of ethics in the substance abuse prevention field. The training will cover key terminology, the six principles in the Prevention Code of Ethics, and a decision-making process to use when faced with an ethical dilemma.

Target Audience: Youth-serving organizations, substance misuse prevention professionals, school counselors and other school personnel, youth after-school and other prevention-related programs. Professionals in the prevention and treatment field who are interested in obtaining their Prevention Specialist Certification (CPS).

Continuing Education (CEs): This course is approved by the Dept. of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division for 6.0 hours of continuing education in the area of ethics for the Certified Prevention Specialist. Ethics in Prevention is a course requirement to obtain and renewal the Prevention Specialist Certification.
