This program meets the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board requirements for Ethics for Social Workers. 

Participants will get a review of the boundaries and relationships portion of the code of ethics, the most violated section for clinical professionals.  Dual Relationships and common ethical dilemmas will be reviewed. Cases examples will be used to guide discussion about common ethical dilemmas.

Registration-830-9 am.  Continental breakfast provided.

Program: 9  am-12:15 pm.

This program is offered free of charge and is designed for social workers and those interested in the topic of ethics and social workers.

This program meets the requirements for ethics continuing education as required by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.

 

Program has been approved for three (03) CPE’s for social workers from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.  (Please note: program only has approval for social work continuing professional education CPE’s)

 

 

The Ohio Board of Nursing accepts events approved for Counselors & Social Workers for Continuing Nurse Education Contact Hours.

 

 

ACMA recertification requirements from their website:

What are my recertification requirements?

The ACM™ credential is valid for a four (4) year period. To recertify, forty (40) hours of continuing education are required. One (1) continuing education credit (CE) equals one (1) 60-minute hour. Thirty (30) of the forty (40) hours must be specific to Hospital Case Management in your field of practice. The remaining ten (10) hours can be non-case management related. The ten (10) hours of non-case management specific continuing education must be related to the practice of healthcare in the certificant’s field of practice.

Approved CE Providers

Approved ACM educational programs must be sponsored or presented by ACM approved providers, and include courses for which the content/subject matter is specific to either (A) Hospital Case Management or (B) related to the practice of healthcare in the certificant’s field of practice.

Approved CE providers are:

  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
  • National Institute for Case Management (NICM)
  • American Case Management Association (ACMA)
  • All state nursing and social work board approved educational courses

Material covered will include a review of the boundaries and relationships portion of the code of ethics, the most violated section for clinical professionals. Incorporating technology into the clinical setting in an ethical manner will be discussed. Dual Relationships and common ethical dilemmas will be reviewed.  Case review will aid in discussing common ethical dilemmas that can and do occur in the clinical setting.
