Ethics for Addiction Professionals

Presented by: Jon S. Jackson, NCAC I, LADAC II, QCS

Course Description:

This class will discuss and demonstrate to the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, (LADAC) the NAADAC Code of Ethics. The Counseling Professional will learn the ethical principles that NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals has set as a standard for the behavior of the addiction professional.


By the end of the training participants will be able to:

  • Have a fundamental understanding of the NAADAC Code of Ethics.
  • Have a solid understanding of confidentiality and the exceptions to the rule.
  • Understand the global criteria of behavior becoming a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. (W.L. White Critical Incidents, 1993)
  • Demonstrate empathic behavior toward special populations without compromising one’s own belief system.

About the Presenter:

Jon S. Jackson LADAC II, NCAC I, QCS has been with Harbor House Incorporated as the COO since 1998; where among other things he provides Clinical Supervision and Education for Counselors in Training.

A - 3 contact hours

A - NAADAC, TDMHSAS, and not approved for CPRS

Q - Is lunch Provided?
A - No but there will be snacks

Q - What should I bring?
A - Bring identification, and a jacket

Q - Are there handouts available?
A - Yes they will be given out at the training

Q - Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
A - It is helpful for check-in, but we can check you in without it.
