Description

The JSSA (Jewish Social Service Agency) Training Institute presents:

Ethical Boundary Management in Clinical Practice

(3 continuing education Ethics credits)

by

Michael C. Heitt, Psy.D.

April 21, 9:00 AM-12:15 PM

Go beyond a superficial review of the basic ethical concepts you learned back in graduate school and when you were studying for your licensing exams. Take those somewhat sterile academic concepts and apply them to everyday practice. Focusing primarily on boundary issues, we will discuss key elements of risk management that you can implement the day you return to your office. This workshop will be structured as an interactive exercise rather than using an “ask the ethicist” format, so be prepared to be actively engaged and ready to think and discuss some tough, real life situations with your colleagues and peers.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

Review models of ethical reasoning;

Reflect upon relevant Codes of Ethics and State laws and regulations;

Discuss fundamentals of ethical practice; and

Apply models of ethical reasoning, ethical codes and laws/regulations to boundary issues within their practice.
