Join Essential Peace and Wellness for a lunch and fundraiser to help a huge crisis in our local community. Let's celebrate the holiday season together and learn more about how we can give back and make a difference in the lives of our youth, our future!
California has the largest population of homeless students in the country and twice the rate of homeless students as the national average. In 2014, 6.5% of Orange County students K - 12 were homeless. 1 out of 10 Cal State students is homeless. Youth homelessness is at crisis levels. Transitional age youth (TAY), ages 18-24, comprise the vast majority (87.4%) of unsheltered homeless youth.
Build Futures’ mission is to transform the lives of homeless youth ages 18 to 24 by providing stable housing and connecting them with a one on one supportive relationship, resources and a self sufficiency plan to become independent, contributing members of our community. They assists these homeless youth with safe housing, food, clothes, toiletries, bus passes, phones and tools to get a job. www.buildfutures.org
