Event description

Description

Essential oils have been healing people for thousands of years and are still widely used for their medicinal properties around the world. They are extracted from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed or root of a plant or tree, and just one drop can have powerful health benefits.

Pure plant-based essential oils, without synthetic fillers, provide a natural alternative to chemical pharmaceuticals, cleaning, and personal care products and are a safe alternative to many of the over-the-counter drugs you’d find in your medicine cabinet.

They are antiviral, antibacterial and have many other plant chemicals that are non-toxic and extremely effective when used in the right way for the correct purpose. They can be used for immune support, relaxation and sleep, stress relief, emotional balance, skin care, respiratory health, green cleaning, and even muscle tension and pain.

Join Tracey Miller at YogaLife Institute of New Hampshire for an educational series to help you incorporate these potent and pure plants into your lifestyle. Located at 6 Chestnut Street, Suite A in Exeter, NH across from the Exeter library.

The fee is $15 per class or $30 total if you register for all three (get one free). Classes begin at 7 pm and end at 8:30 pm.

This series of classes includes:

1) The Foundation of Essential Oils - (Tuesday, January 30th)

2) Essential Oils & Your Immune System: Beating the Bugs! (Tuesday, Feb 20th)

3) Do-It-Yourself Cleaning Solutions for a Toxic Free Home and Body (Tuesday, March 27th)

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Essential Oils 101: Join the Natural Solution Revolution

1) This class will teach you the basics of essential oils and how to incorporate them into your daily life. Learn why plants make essential oils and what they can do for us. Participants will touch, smell and taste Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils and learn the most effective ways to use the most commonly used and researched oils such as lavender, peppermint, lemon, and wild orange. Tracey will show you how to use essential oils to support your overall emotional, physical and spiritual health.

2) Essential Oils & Your Immune System: Beating the Bugs! (February 20th)

If you hate getting sick and resorting to harsh cold and flu medicines, learn how essential oils can help you fight off nasty colds and the flu. Because essential oils are anti-viral and anti-bacterial, they can support your immune system and keep you healthy. Learn which oils support healthy immune function and how to use them for the best results aromatically, topically and internally. Tracey will share her favorite remedies and other nutritional tips for beating the bugs this winter!

3) Do-It-Yourself Cleaning Solutions Products for a Toxic Free Home and Body

Did you know that the National Institute of Occupational Safety has found that one-third of the fragrances which are added too many cleaners are considered toxic? Other ingredients may have low acute toxicity but contribute to long-term health effects, such as cancer or hormone disruption. It is important to know that what you breathe in and put on your skin gets into your body.

Learn how to make cleaning your home less toxic and avoid toxic fumes and scrubs. Tracey will give you recipes for your own do-it-yourself cleaning products including simple recipes for disinfectant surface sprays, glass cleaners, scrubs and stain removers. Each person will receive one DIY product sample to take home.
