Morning, Meet Glory: Essential Morning Habits for Health, Happiness, and Productivity

Mornings are the worst.

Nobody really likes getting up early. Stumbling into the kitchen with a pounding headache, eyes nearly glued shut in exhaustion, and cursing to yourself as you accidentally knock everything off the counter in your ill-fated journey toward the coffee maker because you were too busy trying to read an important email on your phone...no thanks.

But forcing yourself out of bed at the-sun’s-not-even-up-yet o’clock and getting an early start on your day is not only expected of busy, hard-working freelancers, startup founders, and solopreneurs...it’s necessary.

There are quite simply too many emails to send, too many meetings to have, and too many errands to run to sleep in.

But what if you could wake up every day feeling eager to tackle the challenges before you? What if you could get up before the dawn with all the energy you need to do ALL the things?

In this workshop, you’ll learn about all the practical ways you can change your lifestyle and nutrition habits to become a morning person. (Yes, it IS possible - we’ll show you how!)

You’ll learn about the importance of setting a morning routine that starts with intention, centers your mind, and helps you arrive at work calm, collected, and ready to take over the world.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:

  • Detoxing the right way - because cold turkey tastes like rubber
  • Hacking your nervous system - how to tackle your day while staying in the relaxed “rest and digest” mode we all know and love
  • Waking up your digestive system - because nothing throws off your work day like poor digestion
  • What nutrients to fill up on to give your body & brain an extra jolt of energy
  • Mom was right: Why breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and how to make sure yours is balanced
  • The proper ways to do intermittent fasting: Don’t start changing your meal times until you learn these strategies

We’ll also talk about the behavioural elements that make up a morning routine - cooking for the kids, biking to work, going to the gym, showering - and how you can optimize them to have a better morning.

Finally, we’ll work in pairs to develop strategies for tackling our mornings in a more effective way. We’ll use a variety of learning techniques to forge new behaviours by training ourselves to attach meanings to them.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a morning action plan that will help you to:

  • Set morning “triggers” to make healthy new behaviours automatic. A trigger might be brushing your teeth, which would lead to drinking a large glass of water. Another trigger might be getting dressed which leads to packing a water bottle (they’re technically an accessory, right?)
  • Help you set up the right habits to make your mornings rock - and identify the unhealthy habits that are holding you back

Stop wasting some of the most productive hours of your day. Make your mornings rock and discover what you’ve been missing all this time.

Light snacks and a beverage are included. Please contact us if you have any questions about this event: hello@okcolab.com.
