Description

This course is brought to you by the City of Los Angeles, Emergency Management Department. Priority registration is given to Los Angeles City and regional government partners. However, space may be available for additional registrants. You may apply on-line but registration will not be confirmed until two weeks prior to the course if you are not a City of LA employee or regional government partner.

The Essential Emergency Management Concepts (EEMC) Course can fulfill 4 of the 11 baseline courses under CSTI's Type 3 EOC Credentialing Standard REQUIRED FOR ALL POSITIONS. This course will substitute for G-626E, G-775, G-191 & G-611. During the course, you MUST work in the position that you are applying for credentialing.

Using a variety of hazard scenarios and employing a series of progressive exercises, this course introduces participants to key emergency management principles and practices to build participants’ capabilities to operate effectively within a local, regional or state Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Course content includes California’s SEMS Introductory Course and Essential EOC Section/Position Training, providing individual certification toward California’s new EOC credentialing program. This course is also offered as a jurisdiction or area-specific course, customized to local hazards, plans and resources.

• Emergency Operations Centers and Multi-Agency Coordination Systems
• Crisis Communications
• Resource Acquisition and Tracking
• Recovery Considerations
• Emergency Management Training and Exercises

Completion of this course satisfies the requirements of G-775, EOC
Management and Operations, and a certificate of completion for that course
will also be issued.
