TARGET AUDIENCE:

Ideal for new-to-the-field special education teachers and new-to-Idaho special education teachers. Also, beneficial for experienced special education teachers who need an up-to-date review of the special education process.

DESCRIPTION:

Collaborate with other teachers as we guide you through the thread of information from Referral to IEP. Essential Components include State and Federal requirements (FERPA and IDEA). Takeaway resources provided include state IEP form examples, toolbox binder, and online resources vetted by the SDE.

Presenters are Idaho SESTA Instructional Coordinators Mary Robinson, Dawn Spurlock, and Nichole Kristensen. This is a full day training. LUNCH IS ON YOUR OWN. One hour break will be provided. You are welcome to bring a lunch or eat at nearby restaurants. Coffee and water will be provided.

FOR ESSENTIALS TRAINING ONLY: Please bring a COPY of an existing IEP and Evaluation report for ONE of your students. Redact with a black marker any personally identifying information such as student name, address, and birthdate.
