Essence of Motown Literary Jam and Conference

November 8-9, 2013

 Thank you for your interest in our 9th Annual Essence of Motown Literary Conference & Jam that will take place on November 9 through 11, 2012.


This event is three days of celebrating the written word with readers, writers and community leaders.


On November 8th, there is a Literary Jam taking place at 6pm. Location: SOURCE BOOKSELLERS, 4240 Cass Avenue, Ste. 105, Detroit, Michigan 48201

At 6pm there is a FREE to the Public event with small comedy show and Open Mic. Persons are asked to bring books to help with our book drive in support of the FREE show.

Networking, Poetry Performances, Comedy Show & More!
all ages can attend  

On November 9th, starting at 8am, there will be:


·         Workshops on writing, publishing, marketing , and promoting


·         Literary Businesses to help Writers with editing, publishing, marketing and more.


·         Keynote morning and lunch speakers.


Events will also be available FREE to the public, such as:


·       Detroit Poetry Symposium on the successful poety marketing and publishing tactics.


·      All Male community literacy panel with leaders, political figures & business men around Detroit


  • Author/Genre Panels
  • 2013 Book signing Release Gathering
  • & much much more!

Throughout the conference participants will have a chance at the following:

Win literary swag bags with other prizes and gifts for readers and writers

Drop off books for the Motown Writers Network Book Drive to help

Opportunities to become an affiliate or sell ads and help with sponsorship are always needed.  Please contact us for an affliliate code. Money raised from your assistance can be used to help your literary group, pay your way to the conference and also help the Michigan Literary Network grow.

Passion Fruit Poetry must be purchased separately unless you've purchased a Gold or Silver sponsorship.

The Essence of Motown Writers Alliance & Motown Writers Network

Geared to provide literary events in Metro Detroit and assist writers in writing, publishing, marketing and promoting. The Essence of Motown Alliance was created to bring together literary groups and provide an annual literary conference inside of Detroit. The Motown Writers Network is a readers and writers organization that provides networking and education on and off the Internet. Established in 1999, MWN has over 600 members & growing. Members is free with newsletter subscription. All email subscriptions are free.
