This series of professional learning will prioritize the instructional practice of special education in self-contained classrooms in spotlight, priority, and focus schools. The PL session topics will include UDL, assessment, SDI, classroom management, quality IEPs, and more. The cohort will contain full day meetings and will consist of classroom visits to find glows and grows for effective practice for students with disabilities.
For the first session, participants will visit model classrooms and discuss best practices. In upcoming sessions, participants will be asked to host visits in their schools so that they can showcase what they learned.
