Optical Satellite Calibration and Quality Comparison:

How good are Smallsat Data?

Heritage systems such as Landsat have historically provided high quality data for a variety of purposes and especially for science applications. New to the remote sensing scene are the commercial 'smallsat' instruments which are often lower cost, higher volume systems. Can these systems be used for demanding applications requiring a high degree of calibration? To what degree can these systems be characterized and calibrated to be used in science quality applications? What optimal calibration strategies need to be developed and implemented to achieve these goals? These questions and more will be addressed in this workshop.


Attendees are free to choose any lunch and coffee/snack options. For those that wish to, the on-site NOAA cafeteria, the Kloud Café, has provided a link for those that would like to partake of the coffee and snacks at the conference room and have their lunches delivered daily to the workshop.
