In her award-winning band Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, singer/guitarist Erin Harpe blends virtuosic 1930’s style Piedmont fingerpicking — picked up from dad, vintage Stella guitar guru Neil Harpe — with electric guitar, more modern dance beats, and Chicago style harmonica. Described as “Boogie, Blues & Beyond”, the band has been compared to early Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt, or Maria Muldour. Erin has earned a reputation as a captivating performer, playing stages large and small throughout the US, UK and Europe, which she has shared with everyone from ZZTop to Honeyboy Edwards, Buddy Guy and James Cotton. The two-time “Blues Artist of the Year” (2019 NEMA & 2012 BMA) put out a self-produced album in 2020 with husband/bassist Jim Countryman, that won the prestigious “Album of the Year” New England Music Award (“Meet Me In The Middle”/VizzTone Label Group). Erin leads the band on vocals, electric guitar and kazoo, backed by husband Jim Countryman on bass and vocals, Shawn Meehan on drums, and Bobby Mroz on harmonica and keyboards.
