The New Resident Community Group, one of E4F's newest projects, consists of both people of color and white folks who have lived in Flatbush for under five years. The intent of the initiative is to b...ring new residents together in solidarity with longtime ones against the skyrocketing rents and property grabs that are transforming Brooklyn building by building, block by block.

We, as new residents , feel that it is our obligation to unite and fight for the solution with long-time Brooklynites in standing up to profit-driven corporate interests and against displacement. Instead of allowing ourselves to be overcome by helplessness and guilt, we pour that energy into the struggles against repressive policing and in support of affordable housing, and challenge our fellow new residents to do the same.

The Equality for Flatbush Project, (E4F) is a people of color-led multi-national grassroots organization which does anti-police repression, affordable housing and anti-gentrification organizing in the Flatbush and East Flatbush neighborhoods of Brooklyn, NY. Equality for Flatbush was founded in June of 2013 and is a volunteer–run organization. We seek to organize our communities for social change and justice through street outreach, social media campaigns, political advocacy and direct action.
