Event description

Description

In December 2004, Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs, Inc.(HHYEP) was formed in an effort to establish a College Access Program that would provide quality post-secondary planning for local high school students and their families. Today, HHYEP now promotes opportunities across the State of Connecticut to help districts and communities improve college access and opportunity for under-represented college bound students.

In 2017, HHYEP launched a state-wide initiative, The Connecticut College Access and Advising Network (CCAN). Through CCAN, organizations (such as the institutions of higher education, school districts, school counselors, non-profit and for-profit college access service providers, and state agencies) will have greater opportunities to work together in furthering a common mission of greater student postsecondary access and success.

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, we will host a state-wide event featuring nationally recognized educator, Dr. Steve Perry, hosted by Professor Lisa Slade of Norwalk Community College to discuss how Connecticut can help increase college access and success for under-represented college bound students.

Buffet Menu: Champagne Mamosa Bar, Penne Vodka, Chicken Marsala, Salmon Champagne, Vegetable Medley, Potates, Tossed Salad, Bread & Butter, Dessert Buffet, Coffee/Tea, Cash Bar.
