Say How You Feel - Emotional Intelligence

It’s never too early (or too late) to practice identifying and sharing true feelings with others. Learn the importance of saying how we really feel in our friendships and what happens when we don’t. Expand emotional vocabulary and strategies for using this key tool.

True Friend Voice (and Positive Self Talk)

We all talk to ourselves. This is called self-talk and it can be very powerful. Positive self-talk can sound friendly and encouraging, but negative self-talk can sound damaging and defeating. If we can use positive self-talk that sounds like our biggest fan and cheers us on, there is no limit to what we can do. It can help if we have some key phrases we know we want to use when we need to cheer ourselves on.

Friendship Recipes for Back To School - Identifying Friendly and Unfriendly Behaviors in Relationships

Before we head back into school friendships, we will identify friendly vs. unfriendly behaviors, evaluate traits we are looking for in a friend, and identify the traits we offer as a friend. We will also practice healthy approaches to conflict using confident body language, eye contact, and tone of voice.
