Epic Brass Creates a Truly EPIC Holiday Event!
"...they were impressive...
and proclaim Christmas to our ears as vividly
as the smell of fresh-cut evergreens does to our noses."
-The Washington Post
Join the Epic Brass Quintet for a glorious, grand, exciting, rafter-ringing performance to bring in the Holidays! This dynamic group plays a program spanning classical masterworks from Handel, Tchaikovsky, Vaughn Williams and your most beloved Holiday Carols and festive Christmas Pops. Be ready for energy and excitment!
From Carnegie Hall to the Kennedy Center, throughout forty-six states, Europe, and the Far East, trumpeter Earl Raney continues to lead his band of virtuoso brass players on a spirited romp through five centuries of music, blending serious artistic interpretation of classical masterworks with light-hearted holiday entertainment. The thrill of listening to great brass music is only surpassed by the contagious fun the performers and audience share. Experience brilliant, take-your-breath-away performances of Baroque Christmas masterworks, traditional carols and brassy renditions of beloved holiday favorites.
Founded in 1983, this Boston-based ensemble combines elegant musical artistry with an energetic flair and brilliance. Raney, on the faculty of Wheaton College and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and Director of Thayer Performing Arts Center, plays with musicians drawn from the Boston Pops Orchestra and other prominent music groups. Their inspired musicality breathes new life into the traditional brass literature and makes twentieth-century works accessible to listeners of all ages.
