About this event

Celebrate Black History Month with EPACENTER as we host the first of our monthly community events series.

Join us on Friday, February 3, for soul food, art and music.

From 6:00 - 6:30 pm, we will host a Circle Time Children's Book Reading. Come enjoy soul food desserts like Pecan Pie, Peach Cobbler, and Sweet Potato Pie baked by EPACENTER resident chef and culinary arts instructor Alaun Grimaud.

From 6:30 - 7:30 pm, join EPACENTER instructor Christina Velazquez in creating a medal-making workshop. Participants will learn how to engrave on a piece of copper sheet using tracing techniques and tools, to create images of their heroes, like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Coretta Scott King, or other heroes that are wirthy of honor.

The event is FREE, but you must register to attend! Every family member requires an individual ticket. Register NOW to secure your place for this open community event.
