EPA Civil Rights Title VI Oakland Public Meeting Session A
Wed, January 20, 2016, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM PST
You’re invited to attend a public meeting on January 20th, in Oakland California, organized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR).
On December 1, 2015, OCR released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). This NPRM would change EPA’s nondiscrimination rules so that EPA can manage its administrative complaint docket more strategically.
Major modifications include: 1) creating appropriate paths to resolve each complaint based on the unique factual pattern and legal issues it presents; and 2) clarifying EPA’s authority to conduct proactive compliance reviews and collect critical compliance data. With the proposed changes, EPA’s nondiscrimination rules will mirror those of more than twenty other federal agencies. To learn more, please visit http://www.epa.gov/ocr.
There will be three sessions as follows:
Session A 9:30AM to 12:00PM with public comments from 10:00AM-12:00PM
Session B 1:30PM to 4:00PM with public comments from 2:00PM-4:00PM
Session C 4:30PM to 8:00PM with public comments from 5:00PM-8:00PM
