Event Details

We constantly hear about how the educational technology space is booming, yet less often hear exactly how specific edtech tools and stragies are being implemented in schools and classrooms.

Please join us for an interactive discussion with local school leaders, superintendents and community organizations on how technology integration decisions being made now will shape the learning environments of the future. Our conversations will focus on these 5 key areas: Blended Learning, Design Thinking, Digital Literacy, Empowering lifelong teacher learners and Fostering Partnerships.

We will start the event with opening remarks from Dr. Vincent Mathews who is engaging stakeholders from San Jose Unified School District to frame the conversation around innovation, and Jim Vanides who leads the STEM Catalyst Initiative at HP.

Here is a bit more info about the impressive speakers we have lined up. Come learn how...

  • Dale Dougherty seeks to bring the Maker Movement and design-thinking practices to schools, promoting creativity and innovation in K12 classrooms
  • Louise Waters is using technology to re-envision space and content at Leadership Public Schools
  • Christi Harter has lead the San Mateo County Office of Education's creation of a STEM Center to support teacher professional development.
  • Esther Wojcicki launched the Palo Alto High School Journalism program now the largest scholastic journalism program in the U.S
  • April Chou and James Sanders are blending KIPP's already successful charter model with examples of their tech integration at LA and San Jose schools
  • Linda Barker from Kennedy STEM Elementary has established partnerships with tech companies (Hitachi, Dell/WYSE) and community organizations (Tech Museum, Catholic Charities) to create tech-centered learning opportunities for her teachers and students.

Attendees are highly encouraged to bring their own device to follow along with a few of the speakers.
