Description

EntrePrep℠ provides a unique approach to building financial and economic literacy through a series of fun, experiential exercises. Its hallmark is Business-for-a-Day™. This experience challenges participants to identify business opportunities and teaches execution from concept through reality; writing a business strategy, calculating revenue potential, operations, sourcing, promotion and most importantly, interfacing with team members, local entrepreneurs and officials to support the execution of a business idea. The experience demands participants assess their existing interests and skillsets and discover how they might be reinforced through an entrepreneurial mindset. Participants learn business etiquette and apply it as they progress through a highly interactive week of creating a business. The culmination will play out in downtown Newark, DE on Thursday with post-mortem evaluation and presentations to the public on Friday afternoon. EntrePrep℠ attracts creative and determined students curious to learn how traditional instruction translates into a fast-paced, real-world experience.

Organized by

The University of Delaware Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship (CEEE) in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics was founded in 1971 to address the absence of economics in the K through 12 curriculum with the goal of ensuring all students graduating from Delaware high schools would be well grounded in economics with the knowledge and skills to be productive citizens.

In 1981, the CEEE established the Master of Arts in Economics and Entrepreneurship for Educators graduate program.  The program serves to establish a network of teachers across the country and throughout the world to develop, implement and exchange meaningful economic, financial and entrepreneurial education programs.  Those teachers have gone on to train other teachers in their states and regions, thereby leveraging the impact of the MAEEE program.
