Jeff Morgan: Jeff Morgan was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. In 1978, right out of high school, Jeff started working with family as a plumber. Putting his career first, Jeff continued to excel as a plumber eventually joining a national plumbing franchise for 5 years as a supervisor. It was here that he realized that there had to be a better way to treat both associates and customers, thus, Morgan Miller Plumbing was born. In 1997, Morgan Miller Plumbing was founded on four basic principles: to ensure that our plumbing services are that of the highest quality, to build a client base that is eager to call back again and again, to create a workplace that attracts and retain superstars, and to back up every word with service that our customers deserve. In 2011, he decided to take these principles to the next level and really showcase Morgan Miller Plumbing as a leading Kansas City brand. Jeff pioneered the way through the social media revolution, and then expanded to broadcast television. In addition, Jeff has embraced networking to the point of it becoming almost a second job. Jeff continues to stay ahead of the curve in his industry providing not only top quality plumbing service, but also unmatched customer service.
Jeanette Knittel: Jeanette never knew after graduating from John Brown University in Siloam Sprinks, AR with a B.S. in Home Economics/Child Development & Psychology that some decades later her education would come into play when creating her business, alvÖru clothing.
Jeanette worked 10 years in the computer graphics industry owning Computer Images of Wichita and Kansas City with clients including Pizza Hut, Sprint, AMC Theaters, Black & Veach, and Boeing. After selling that business in 1992, Jeannette took her talents of relationship building to various sales careers – both in computer-related industries and her last employment with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
Acceptance in 2012 into UMKC’s Entrepreneurship Scholars Program, the decision to turn an eight year dream into a business became reality. Years of personal struggle with hot flashes and especially night sweats with little options of relieve in clothing and bedding were impetus for alvÖru clothing. With primary options of athletic wear or matronly-looking nightwear made out of wicking fabrics, Jeanette researched to find a better solution; one that helped women not only be cooler in their clothes day and night, but to feel feminine and fashionable. AlvÖru clothing has an apparel and bedding line using performance-based fabric to help women suffering from body temperature fluctuations. Bringing body temperature into balance, alvÖru utilizes technology that went into spacesuits used by NASA to regulate astronauts’ body temperature using what is called “Phase Change Materials”. Being COOL, COMFORTABLE, and CONFIDENT throughout your day and night is easy with alvÖru.
