People are the foundation of an awesome startup. Many investors and entrepreneurs will tell you that people are more important than the product, market, or business model.

This is the second of an eight week course on how to build a successful startup. We will cover critical issues in putting together an awesome team:

* Finding and choosing co-founders

* Founders agreements

* Splitting equity 

* Attracting supporters

* Stock options and compensation for employees/independent contractors

* Creating your company's culture

This session will be highly interactive, with an activity for participants to get to know each  other, an exercise in team formation, and plenty of opportunity for discussion.

You will come away knowing what you need to think about and do to get the right people for your new venture.

Douglas Y. Park
Douglas Y. Park specializes in problems that cut across corporate governance, corporate and securities law, and strategy. As a Partner at Rimon, PC, he helps entrepreneurs, companies, boards, and investors address complex situations that implicate both business and legal issues. He has taught Starting Startups and Mergers and Acquisitions at Stanford University. Doug received a PhD in Business from Stanford Graduate School of Business, AB from Harvard College, and a JD from University of Michigan Law School.
