Event description

Description

The world has changed in ways that now require everyone to be more innovative and entrepreneurial regardless of their chosen field. Consequently, the need for educators to infuse entrepreneurial thinking into the learning experience while engaging faculty across all disciplines is ever pressing. Guided by leading experts, participants in this professional development workshop will engage in the entrepreneurial process and share best practices while exploring the broader implications of entrepreneurial thinking as an essential life skill that also creates a powerful incentive to learn. Upon successful completion participants will receive an Entrepreneurial Mindset Educator Certificate.

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is designed for transformational educators of all disciplines from K-12, community colleges, and universities. Participants may include existing innovation and entrepreneurship educators who seek to expand their programs or interdisciplinary faculty from STEM, arts and humanities, career and technical education, or other disciplines who want to incorporate entrepreneurial thinking into the learning experience.

Why You Should Attend:

Academic and organizational leaders around the world have identified entrepreneurial thinking as a global imperative citing the need to shift entrepreneurship from the perimeter to the core of the way education operates. No longer the exclusive domain of the business school, entrepreneurial thinking has become essential for all students to adapt and thrive in today’s rapidly changing world. All graduates must now learn how to become effective problem solvers who can think critically and creatively to identify and solve complex problems and collaborate across networks. Shifting entrepreneurship from the perimeter to the core of education will require transformational educators who can encourage and support entrepreneurial thinking across all disciplines.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Redefine entrepreneurship in way that is both relevant and broadly accessible
  • Understand the fundamental components of an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Identify the underlying factors, both within the person and the situation, that encourage or inhibit entrepreneurial attitudes, behaviors, and skills
  • Apply four key learning models that promote creativity, critical thinking, effective problem solving, teamwork and other entrepreneurial skills
  • Develop a toolkit to cultivate an entrepreneurial learning environment in the classroom
  • Cultivate relationships with entrepreneurial educators from around the world
