Description
Interested in Protecting your Electrical Switchgear fom the Next Superstorm?
Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on electrical systems throughout the region, which in turn impacted mechanical and plumbing systems rendering housing facilities inoperable and uninhabitable for weeks and months. One way to safeguard your electrical switchgear is to relocate your components above the base flood elevation, but this process is potentially complicated and expensive.
This Resilience Speakers session will focus on a variety of strategies to improve the resilience of multifamily affordable housing electrical systems. Our speakers will discuss lesson’s learned from post-Sandy reconstruction and recommendations for protecting electrical systems from future flooding and storm events.
Presenters include:
Michael Mayfield, Vice President of EJ Electric -a leading electrical engineering and
construction from in the NYC Region. Mike is responsible for project engineering and construction from project inception to final delivery. Mike has overseen over 51 post-Sandy facility reconstruction and repair projects and will review lessons-learned from the field and recommendations for resilience.
Vincent Salvatoriello, is principal of Strategix Consulting and former Director of Construction for Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He will describe his experience overseeing the repair and relocation of Manhattan-based supportive housing partner Bailey House’s electrical switchgear from the basement to the first floor and the associated decision-making processes.
This session is open to all multifamily housing operators, property managers, owners, engineers, contractors, and architects.
