Entering the European Market: Lessons from Serial Entrepreneur & Investor Jos White
Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EDT)
New York, NY
Jos White is one of Europe's most successful businessmen.
A serial entrepreneur turned investor Jos has co-founded five tech companies – RBR Networks, Star, MessageLabs and, most recently, Notion Capital and Daring Journey Ventures. Jos experienced the challenges of growing a successful global business first hand: He brought UK based MessageLabs to the US in 2002 and sold it to Symantec for around $700m in 2008. He now invests in disruptive technologies on both continents.
Jos is a well known speaker and commentator on the European tech scene and at this event, he'll be talking us through all angles of the Euro/US divide and giving the audience a crystal clear view on what he calls "the cracks of European light" that could help spark a global shift in entrepreneurial power away from the US.
Jos will also talk about the central hubs of the Euro tech scene, London and Berlin, and address some of the challenges and opportunities for US companies entering the European market, from business and investor culture to government support and their often frustrating regulations.
Recent investments by Jos White and Notion Capital include: Shutl, Tradeshift, NewVoiceMedia and The Currency Cloud. In Q2 2012 Jos' company Notion Capital announced a new $120m fund focused on European based cloud computing businesses.
Join us on May 1st and get a unique chance to hear one of Europe's most successful entrepreneurs share his story and insights on the international tech scene.
Refreshments will be provided.
