Event description

Description

Join us for a day focused on raising educational attainment to ensure Ohio can compete.

Ohio’s goal is that by 2025, 65% of all working-age adults will have a degree or credential. Currently, just 44% of Ohioans have a 2- or 4-year degree or a work-related certificate.

Ohio’s economic competitiveness is inextricably linked to increasing the number of Ohioans with a college degree or credential. Young people can’t catch up after high school or on the job. Creating a highly educated workforce and getting students college- and career-ready require fostering student success from cradle-to-career.

At this event, you will learn about how Ohio’s young people are performing on critical predictive P-20 benchmarks and how Ohio’s workforce stacks up against other states.

Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m.
Welcoming Remarks
State Sen. Peggy Lehner, Chair of the Ohio Senate Education Committee
Jim Tressel, President, Youngstown State University
Eric Hanushek, Stanford University economist

There is no charge for the event and boxed lunches will be provided.

Register by January 22, 2018.
