Enshrouded Photography Exhibition
Daily Event: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM (PST)
A two-person photography exhibition by local Brooklyn artists
Peter Hassler and Dahn Hiuni
Enshrouded explores the veiled human subject as theme. In all images, figures are somehow hidden or obscured, in moments that are both unrehearsed and mysterious. Through Hassler’s and Hiuni’s lenses, figures seem to be negotiating critical moments of presence, absence and transformation. Whether shrouded by a physical covering, or by veils of light or smoke, the individuals in these photographs are somehow in the process of appearing and disappearing—to others and to themselves. Both in public spaces and in intimate ones, the various shrouds become metaphors for physical, psychic and emotional predicament, as well as spiritual and aesthetic experience. With their subtle, unobtrusive approach, Hassler and Hiuni attempt to reveal human experiences, even as their subjects may try to conceal them.
