Description

The English Forward Instructor Training is an 11-hour interactive and participatory workshop held over two days that introduces new and volunteer instructors to learner-centered ESL instruction. Led by Literacy Coalition Master Trainers, the training is rooted in research on second language acquisition, adult learning theory, studies in cognitive science, and research on adult ESL literacy. It focuses on teaching communicative language in the classroom, with the goal of having students learn language skills that can be immediately applied to negotiate daily life in an English-speaking environment.
