Event description
Meet the Kidconscious Project at the Englewood Community Garden to harvest vegetables and help support local food banks.

About this Event

Join us at the Englewood Community Garden to help harvest vegetables like beans, zucchini, and tomatoes. The kids will learn the process of weighing the vegetables to determine the quantity of the donation. With the help of the gardening team, we will help weed the garden to prepare for the next batch of produce. Kids will practice teamwork and help their community. They will learn to understand how community gardens can positively impact the neighborhood. We will work with a team of staff members to learn how to properly harvest and handle all the vegetables. We will have the opportunity to learn more about composting from a member of Denver Urban Garden. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join! This event is available for kids ages 6-12 years.

Quick Facts:

  • All gardeners practice organic gardening methods
  • The garden includes full 12 'x 12' plots and half 6' x 12' plots in addition to ADA approved raised beds.
  • Water is provided
