Event description

Description

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) provides states and districts greater latitude to determine what evidence-based support and interventions will be used to improve outcomes for traditionally underserved students. Though legislated in NC the Innovative School District (ISD) is also one of the interventions in the state’s ESSA plan. Over the past weeks a lot of attention has been focused on the ISD and schools that could possibly be taken over by management organizations, but what does the plan say about other interventions? What supports/interventions are available to schools and districts before the loss of local control?

This workshop designed to help parents, family members, and community leaders identify their role in advancing needed discussions to influence policy-making regarding education in their schools, districts, and across the state.

Certificates of Attendance will be provided.

Educators may submit certificates to HR departments for CEU credit approval.

Participation is FREE, but you must register.
