Bike Cleveland has partnered with WE BIKE, etc., LLC (WeBike.org) to assist with the implementation of a Pedestrian and Bicycle Law Enforcement Training Program to help improve pedestrian and bicycle safety in our area, and we want you to participate.
WE BIKE is a consulting firm that specializes in engineering, education and enforcement for walking, bicycling, and healthy communities. The owner, Peter Flucke, is a former law enforcement officer, nationally certified League Cycling Instructor, Police Cyclist and pedestrian safety instructor. With his more than 20 years of experience, Peter has developed and conducted trainings for law enforcement officers across the country.
As a component of the law enforcement training program Bike Cleveland is hosting a two-day Enforcement for Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety course taught by Peter Flucke of WE BIKE. In the training, officers will learn the what, where, when, how, who & why of walking and bicycling; components of the Highway Safety Triangle; pedestrian and bicycle environment audits; how pedestrian & bicycle crashes happen; pedestrian & bicycle laws; crash investigating & reporting; potential law enforcement partners; and more. This course is appropriate for all law enforcement officers. Training details are below:

Date: April 24th – April 25th
Time: 8:30am-4:30pm
Cost: FREE, instructor and materials paid for by Bike Cleveland.
Place: Cleveland Metroparks Operations Office (4500 Valley Parkway, Fairview Park, OH 44126)
Deadline: RSVP are required by April 7th. Space is limited so register early.
You are required to attend both days of the training.

Again the training and resources are available at BikeCleveland.org/Enforcement, and are free for you and your officers to use. This program is a continuum of training, so we ask that you utilize all the resources by sharing them with your officers.
