Energy Democracy: Louisiana Power Plan Meeting
Register here and join the Louisiana People’s Power Plan Meeting!
On April 28, 2016, community leaders, energy experts, coastal advocates, environmental campaigners and climate justice leaders from each region of Louisiana met to discuss what a Clean Power Plan could look like for Louisiana as well as the need for justice in communities on the frontlines of climate change and the fencelines of polluting power plants and other hazardous industries.
On Dec. 15th, we will expand the conversation and plan for action.
Join us to plan an inclusive, democratic Louisiana People's Power Plan to kick off in 2017. Together, we can build a just and renewable energy future for all Louisiana communities.
The main session is the afternoon meeting, which starts with lunch at 12:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to also attend the morning meeting, starting at 9:00 am, to learn or brush up on the details of the climate change, federal and state energy policies, Louisiana’s energy landscape, and the coastal crisis.
Please register today as space is limited. We will confirm your registration via email or phone.
Sponsors of the event include: Advocates for Environmental Human Rights, the Alliance for Affordable Energy, Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy, Sierra Club
