Event description

Description

Join us at the Holland Energy Park for part three of the four-part Energy Education Crash Course series!

How does the electricity that we generate make it to your home? How does power safely travel from place to place? What actually is “the grid” and how does it work? Find out the answers to these common questions, and more, by joining HBPW’s Electric Transmission and Distribution Superintendent Steve Bruinsma and Electric Distribution Engineering Supervisor Carl Thorwall for a class on electric distribution. This class will feature an in-depth look at how we transport the electricity we generate to the places it needs to go, complete with hands-on activities and a detailed look at the grid system.

Energy Education Crash Course is an educational series focused on increasing the energy literacy of our community, consisting of four classes detailing different aspects of energy and electricity.

The series is structured in a way that each class builds on the previous classes, but please feel free to register for any of the courses that interest you, regardless if you took the ones before.

Although the courses are free, tickets are limited, so please register ahead of time to guarantee your place. If you register and find yourself unable to attend, please email Hannah at hmico@hollandbpw.com to release your tickets.
