About this event

The North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub has recently secured funding from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to deliver a programme of capacity building and upskilling, targeted at supporting local authorities to access funding opportunities such as the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.

Most authorities have declared a climate emergency, and many have ambitious targets to achieve Net Zero – some by 2030. This is an opportune time for them to develop plans around low-carbon heating systems, improving energy efficiency, and taking advantage of renewable generation opportunities.

Turner & Townsend is working with the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub to deliver a suite of training programmes as part of the Hub’s Public Sector Estate Decarbonisation programme. This training will support public organisations to identify decarbonisation opportunities by outlining how to conduct energy audits of your buildings.

Each session will walk participants through the process of preparing and delivering an energy audit for various building types and highlight the key data, technologies and assessment methods which can be used to assess current energy performance. Sessions aim to equip candidates with the knowledge to:

• Identify common low regrets measures for cost and energy reductions within buildings

• Identify and review energy efficiency measures across a range of available technologies

• Undertake simple carbon and pay back calculations for energy efficiency measures

• Identify and assess building and energy data to identify areas of over consumption or inefficiency

Turner & Townsend are offering three training sessions - you only need to attend one. Sessions are open to any organisation currently participating in the programme and organisations are welcome invite additional colleagues to attend should they be of interest.
