Description

1-Day Course Description

There are many Endodontically Treated Teeth where much of the crown structure is lost, but the roots are structurally, and periodontally sound. In private practice, the clinical management of such teeth depends on the clinician’s practice philosophy and orientation.

  • Clinicians with technical orientation consider such teeth hopeless because they are not easily restorable. They recommend extraction, Ridge argumentation, Sinus surgery, and implant placement.
  • Clinicians with biologic and preventive orientation prefer to clinically assess the endodontic treatment, retreat when necessary, Restore the missing tooth structure with bonded composite-Post core buildup, perform surgical crown lengthening and proper temporization prior to the placement of final restoration.

General Practitioners are the primary providers of oral and dental healthcare throughout the world. They must be master diagnosticians , competent restorative clinicians and skilled in Endodontic -Periodontic Surgery to diagnose hidden root cracks and fractures, curette a gross overfill, perform an apicoectomy or surgical crown lengthening..

The course is highly recommended for general practitioners who have such basic oral surgical skills and would like to increase and update their surgical knowledge.

Dr Abou-Rass believes that general practitioners can perform combined endodontic- periodontic surgery if properly trained and supported by proper surgical instruments and armamentarium and trained dental surgery assistants .
