Event description

Description

Your voice and experiences are needed to end violence in Spokane County! Please attend an important event- End the Violence: A Community Conversation. Together we'll learn about strategic actions we can take to address abuse, trauma, and violence in our region. A groundbreaking new tool will be introduced, The Trauma & Violence Map. This map can be used to show the complexities of trauma and violence in our community and where opportunities are to focus efforts and make the biggest impact. Advocate, writer, leader, and philanthropist, Kiantha Duncan, will be our emcee.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Inspiring personal stories from local leaders and advocates regarding how violence and trauma have shaped their lives.

  • Instruction on how to utilize the map to further the work you are doing or want to start doing.

  • An overview of some of the amazing organizations and projects already working on violence & trauma in our region & how they fit together.

It's only by working together that we'll succeed. We'll recognize an individual and an organization who have demonstrated outstanding collaboration through the first annual Spokane Collaboration Awards sponsored by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians with special guest Mayor Nadine Woodward. Refreshments will be provided along with a free gift.

This event is organized by Priority Spokane, The Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition, and the Spokane Regional Health District.

This event is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente & Providence Health Services with support from Better Health Together & the Innovia Foundation.
