Description

Your Health Concierge, Inc. (YHC) is a prevention and wellness services agency that provides a series of trainings and workshops for adults who want to stay healthy as they age. On November 4th, YHC will be hosting an End-of-life training for practitioners who work with clients and their families. The purpose of this training is to train participants on the role of healthcare practitioners in an ethical, client-centered approach to end-of-life issues.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain plans relevant to one’s health at various phases of life.
  • Describe the role of psychologists in end-of-life care planning.
  • Distinguish between different types of care planning that are client-centered.
  • Identify how they and their clients experience death and loss.
  • Integrate their own experiences of death and loss into conversations with clients about mortality.
  • Use a tool that can be helpful with clients in end-of-life care planning and living a good quality of life at the end of life.
  • Help clients identify and communicate when and why they would choose to shift their goals of care from prolonging life to relieving suffering.
  • Analyze the roles of different stakeholders involved in ACP.
  • Distinguish advance directives from advance care planning and employ techniques and tools of advance care planning in a way that respects the persons and their cultural traditions.
  • Apply online tools that psychologists can with clients to clarify their goals for end-of-life care.
  • Develop advocacy skills to communicate client’s desires to others such as palliative care and hospice professionals about end-of-life goals.

Participants: The intended audience for this workshop include nurses, psychologists, social workers, allied health professionals in palliative and hospice care.

Continuing Education Contact Hours:

  1. This training is approved for a total of 6 CHES Category 1 continuing education contact hours (CECH). 4.5 have been approved for advanced-level credit by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).
  2. This training is has been approved for a total of 6 continuing education credits by the American Psychological Association.
  3. This training has been approved for a total of 6 continuing education credits by the National Association of Social Workers.
  4. This training is approved for 6 contact hours by the Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

What's the refund policy?

  • Cancellation 30 days prior to the training = 100% refund
  • Cancellation two weeks prior to the training = 50% refund
  • Cancellation anytime after two week prior to the training = NO REFUND but payment can be applied to a future training
  • If Your Health Concierge, Inc, need to cancel the training, attendees will have the option of receiving 100% refund or applying their payment to a future training.
