Event description
Encore vigil concert of the Commemoration of the Chinese Massacre of 1871.

About this Event

On October 24, 1871, seventeen Chinese men including a 15-year-old boy were killed by a mob in Los Angeles. Known as the Chinese Massacre of 1871, it was the culmination of growing anti-Chinese sentiment leading to racially motivated violence. The Chinese American Museum will host a vigil concert to commemorate the lives lost on that day. This multimedia program will feature a musical performance and reading of the names of those who passed that day.
